I tried to ride up Thomas Creek to Dry pond today (4/24/11) and ran into too much snow just below the first switchback on the way up to dry pond.  Here is the picture.  http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1685488577650&set

I hit too much snow at 6700 ft.  The valley floor is at 4200, and Dry Pond is at 7000 ft.  So, we still need some very warm days to clear the last 300 vertical feet of snow.  Our weather lately has been cool, windy, and overcast with the snow falling at the 5000 ft mark.  So,  it is looking like we are going to get a slow start to the mountain bike season.
